Kafa's ancient kingdom provides a fascinating history for the Kafa Biosphere Reserve.  While walking through the forests visitors can imagine the powerful kingdom at its peak.  Land has been the principal means of production, and control over land is a major determinant of political power.  The kingdom provided a foundation for the cultural societal structure as we see it today.
